Travel Weekly previewed Rick Stein’s new restaurant located at the upcoming 198-key InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach. The venue showcases a bleached Mediterranean beach atmosphere and offers a distinctive dining experience.
The restaurant accommodates 224 guests across three unique areas:
Indoor dining is intimate, featuring a 10-seater chef’s table and two 12-seater banquette areas. Artistic highlights include two prominent wall artworks — an arrow squid and a school of fish.
Sass’s Bar, named after Stein’s Australian PR wife Sarah, occupies the former karaoke bar space of the previous Crowne Plaza hotel. The restaurant will have a soft opening catering to 80 guests before the full launch.
Rick Stein said, “Sydney’s Coogee Beach is the perfect location for our flagship Australian restaurant. It’s relaxed yet sophisticated, with that incredible connection to the ocean that has always inspired my cooking. For us, this feels like coming home.”
Rick Stein is expected to arrive on 20 December. Booking demand was high, with over 3500 people accessing the reservation site immediately after it opened.
The new restaurant promises a fresh culinary destination enhanced by its coastal setting and Stein’s renowned expertise.
