Penn State faces a difficult path in its final five games. After Indiana, they will play Michigan State, Nebraska, and Rutgers—matchups considered more manageable. To become bowl eligible, the Nittany Lions must win at least three of these contests. Even if they succeed, the focus will likely remain on the search for a new coach in Happy Valley.
These last games serve two main purposes:
Penn State’s passing offense has struggled, ranking 110th nationally entering this week. Transfers Kyron Hudson, Trebor Peña, and Devonte Ross have not met expectations. Freshman Koby Howard is expected to provide an offensive boost.
Interim coach Terry Smith stated, “Howard and redshirt freshman Tyseer Denmark will see more time in the receiving corps moving forward.”
The remaining games will focus on developing young talent and showcasing seniors, while Penn State battles for bowl eligibility amid coaching uncertainties.
