‘Stranger Things 5’: First look at final season as cast faces controversy

‘Stranger Things 5’: First Look at Final Season

Netflix has released the first five minutes of Stranger Things Season 5, stirring both excitement and controversy as fans await the final installment.

Season 5 Opening Scene

Contrary to fan expectations, the new season does not continue directly from Season 4. Instead, it takes viewers back to November 12, 1983—six days after Will Byers' disappearance—at the Hawkins Library in the Upside Down.

Although the season is set 18 months after Season 4, creators Matt and Ross Duffer use this opening to reconnect the emotional and narrative threads that began in Season 1, when Joyce (Winona Ryder) and Police Chief Jim Hopper (David Harbour) first discovered Will (Noah Schnapp).

Controversy During Press Tour

The series’ promotional activities have been overshadowed by a report claiming Millie Bobby Brown accused co-star David Harbour of bullying on set. This allegation was first published by The Daily Mail last weekend.

Brown, 21, filed a harassment complaint before filming started, leading Netflix to conduct a months-long investigation.

No sexual misconduct was reported, but Brown reportedly had a personal representative present throughout filming, which concluded in December.

Neither Netflix nor the representatives of Brown or Harbour have released official statements regarding the matter.

Author’s Summary

The new season opens with a nostalgic yet tense scene, while behind the scenes, serious bullying allegations have cast a shadow over the anticipated final chapter.
