Flinders Port Holdings (FPH) showcased a custom-built float celebrating maritime trade at the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant in Adelaide, emphasizing its role in bringing festive cheer to South Australians.
FPH’s entry into this year’s Christmas Pageant shines a spotlight on the essential role maritime trade plays in the region. The event begins at 9:30 AM on Saturday, 8 November, marked by the traditional blowing of the golden whistle.
Since 1933, the Christmas Pageant has been the official start to the holiday season in South Australia, drawing thousands of spectators of all ages to line the streets of Adelaide.
“We are thrilled to finally unveil our FPH float,” said Flinders Port Holdings in a social media post.
“Our float celebrates the vital role maritime trade plays in bringing festive joy, and presents, to South Australians each year.”
The float is the first custom-built entry in the pageant in five years. It features a replica of one of FPH’s Pilot boats, a crew of straddle carriers, containers, and elves preparing Christmas gifts.
The blue fabric ruffle underneath creates the effect of the Pilot Boat gliding through water, adding a realistic and festive touch.
FPH officially launched the float at Outer Harbor earlier this week, with some of their elves participating in the celebrations.
