Remembrance Day services will take place across towns in the Goulburn Valley on Tuesday, November 11, honoring those who fought and died for Australia.
The Shepparton ceremony will occur at the cenotaph located at the corner of Welsford and Fryers Streets, starting at 10:30 a.m.
Kyriakos ‘Ken’ Tsirigotis, guest speaker, served 22 years in the Australian Army, mainly in the Royal Australian Infantry Corps as a reconnaissance paratrooper.
After his military career, he worked at Melbourne Legacy in roles including chief operating officer, and held leadership positions with the Victorian Veterans Council. He also led operations for the Legacy Centenary Torch Relay.
A memorial plaque honoring World War I nurses trained in the Goulburn Valley will be unveiled at the cenotaph during the service.
The Mooroopna service will be held at the Mooroopna cenotaph on McLennan Street.
Adrian Ambrose, the guest speaker, is a former school teacher and retired lawyer.
He will deliver the address at the ceremony.
