Qualcomm Accused of Violating Anti-monopoly Law
Qualcomm is under investigation for suspected violation of the Anti-monopoly Law.
The head of the Anti-Monopoly Bureau II at the SAMR stated that the investigation is based on
clear facts and conclusive evidenceregarding Qualcomm's acquisition of Autotalks.
- On March 12, 2024, Qualcomm was notified to submit a declaration under Article 26 of the Anti-monopoly Law.
- Qualcomm was prohibited from implementing the concentration before obtaining approval.
- On March 14, 2024, Qualcomm informed the bureau that it would abandon the transaction.
- However, by June 2025, Qualcomm completed the acquisition without submitting a declaration or communicating with the bureau.
The bureau will continue the investigation in accordance with the law, upholding objectivity and fairness.
