Three inmates have been formally charged with the murder of convicted child killer Kyle Bevan, who was found dead at HMP Wakefield. The suspects—Mark Fellows, 45, Lee Newell, 56, and David Taylor, 63—are all serving prisoners at the same facility.
Police were called to the category A prison at 8:25 a.m. on Wednesday after Bevan, 33, was discovered dead in his cell. He had been serving a life sentence with a minimum term of 28 years for the brutal killing of two-year-old Lola James in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, in July 2020.
“Detectives have charged three men with murder after the death of a prisoner at HMP Wakefield on Wednesday, November 5. Kyle Bevan, aged 33, was found dead in his cell on Wednesday morning. Mark Fellows aged 45, Lee Newell aged 56 and David Taylor aged 63, all of whom identify as White British and were inmates at HMP Wakefield, have been charged with murder.”
Bevan had served only two and a half years of his life sentence when he was found dead. His crime, described as a "sustained, deliberate and very violent" assault, had shocked the community in Pembrokeshire.
