'The Voice' Recap: The Knockouts Continue & First-Ever Mic Drop Is Used

'The Voice' Recap: Knockouts and First-Ever Mic Drop

Michael Bublé introduced the first Mic Drop while coaches continued trimming their teams during Season 28 of The Voice. The episode aired on Monday, November 3, featuring the Knockout Rounds where each coach (Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, Snoop Dogg, and Michael Bublé) eliminated one contestant from their team immediately after each performance.

There were no Saves or Steals in this round, so the coaches’ choices were final. However, each coach had one Mic Drop to award. This special power placed one artist from their team into consideration to perform at the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day. Fans will later vote for their favorite Mic Drop pick after all four are chosen.

Team Snoop's Knockout Performances

Snoop Dogg’s team members, Toni Lorene and Natalia Albertini, who was previously saved in the Battle Rounds, performed first. Natalia sang “I Wish” by Stevie Wonder, while Toni delivered a powerful rendition of “Lady Marmalade.”

“Natalia, your performance was spectacular, you’re gorgeous, I love your outfit,” said Reba McEntire. “I guess if I had to pick one, I think I’d go with Natalia.”

Niall Horan called Toni a “machine” and added, “The stuff you can do with your voice … there’s something special about you.” Both Horan and Bublé leaned toward choosing Toni.

Snoop Dogg proudly remarked, “I am a proud uncle.”

Current Standings and Next Steps

The episode showcased intense head-to-head battles with difficult decisions for the coaches. The teams' compositions will now head into the Playoffs, growing increasingly tighter as the competition moves forward.

Summary: The latest episode of The Voice saw dramatic Knockout rounds where coaches made final cuts and used a new Mic Drop advantage to boost standout performers toward the Rose Parade, intensifying the race to the Playoffs.
