In late October, the Supreme Court welcomed delegates from the US Supreme Court for a bilateral event held in London and Oxford from October 23 to 26. The discussions focused on significant legal topics and fostered transatlantic dialogue.
The Forum on the Rule of Law was organized jointly with the Association of Marshall Scholars and the American College of Trial Lawyers.
Building on the 2022 Forum on the Rule of Law held at the US Supreme Court, this year’s event furthered discussions on:
“It was a pleasure for the UK Supreme Court to host our colleagues and friends from the US Supreme Court and Federal Judiciary, as well as the Association of Marshall Scholars and the American College of Trial Lawyers. Bilateral meetings are a useful way for legal professionals to take time away from their usual schedules to examine pressing legal issues.” — Deputy President of the Supreme Court, Lord Hodge
This event strengthened collaboration between leading judicial figures from the UK and the US, allowing profound exchanges on key legal challenges in both countries.
The recent forum deepened UK-US judicial cooperation, enabling top legal minds to discuss critical issues like constitutional interpretation, judicial independence, and digital rights.
