After two decades as the beloved 9News Melbourne weather presenter, Livinia Nixon announced she will step down from her weather role, while continuing other projects with Nine.

Career and Departure

Livinia Nixon joined the Nine Network in 1997 and became the weather presenter for 9News Melbourne in 2004. Her final weather bulletin will air on Tuesday, 18 November 2025.

Personal Reasons and Future Plans

Nixon shared that her decision is driven by family priorities, particularly supporting her two sons as they enter senior school years.

“It’s been a privilege to be welcomed into viewers’ homes for so long, but this is the right time for my family.”

While leaving nightly weather presenting, she will remain active on Nine by continuing her work on flagship travel shows.

Continuing Roles

“Presenting the weather has shaped my life and career. I owe this role everything but this is the right decision for me,” Nixon said.

“When I discussed it with our boys, they said ‘we’re pretty excited to spend more time with you, Mum.’”

“I’m thrilled to be staying with Nine and will be continuing my roles on Getaway and Postcards.”
