Members of the DP World Tour will not need official approval to take part in LIV Golf’s qualifying school, set for January 2026. According to a statement confirmed by a DP World Tour spokesperson, players are free to enter LIV Golf Promotions so long as there is no scheduling conflict.
The event will take place at Black Diamond Ranch in Florida and will consist of a four-day, 72-hole tournament. The top two finishers will receive full exemptions to join the PIF-backed LIV Golf League in 2026.
“Members will not be required to apply for a tournament release if they wish to enter, providing there is no tournament clash,” said a DP World Tour spokesperson.
No DP World Tour or HotelPlanner events are scheduled during that week, allowing players the possibility to participate freely. Additionally, entrants may secure an exemption into the 2026 International Series, offering an added incentive.
LIV Golf introduced its promotion events in 2022. The 2023 qualifiers saw Kalle Samooja, Kieran Vincent, and Jinichiro Kozuma advance. In 2024, only one golfer, Max Lee, earned a place, but for 2026, LIV has reinstated two qualifying spots.
Furthermore, the two leading players in the International Series will also be offered full-time LIV Golf contracts, expanding opportunities for emerging talent.
DP World Tour members can join LIV Golf’s 2026 qualifying event without release approval, with two automatic league spots and International Series incentives on offer.
