A new wave of disinformation is spreading on social media platforms, featuring AI-generated videos that falsely portray Ukraine's mobilization efforts. These videos show young Ukrainian men, aged 22 and 23, appearing distressed and pleading, suggesting forced conscription into the frontline.
Experts believe this disinformation campaign represents a new phase in the Kremlin's information warfare strategy. The objective is to undermine confidence in Ukraine’s leadership, create panic among the public, and weaken Western support for Ukraine.
"The information space is a battlefield, and that's why (Russia) works tirelessly to push its narratives," said Anton Kuchukhidze, an international political scientist and co-founder of the United Ukraine think tank.

Deepfake videos featuring fake Ukrainian soldiers are being used in a Kremlin-backed disinformation effort to destabilize Ukraine's social cohesion and international support.
