Recent Ipsos polling in the UK shows increased approval of the Royal Family’s management of the situation involving Prince Andrew. Support for how the Royal Family has handled the issue rose from 23% two weeks ago to 37% currently, though 40% still disapprove.
The survey was conducted from October 31 to November 3, following King Charles III’s announcement to remove Prince Andrew’s official titles. As a result, Prince Andrew is now officially known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
“Our latest findings suggest that the British public largely supports King Charles III's decisive action regarding Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, with 90% thinking it was the right move to remove his official titles and honours.”
“This is mirrored in the uptick in approval for the Royal Family's handling of the Andrew situation overall, from 23% to 37% over the last couple of weeks - although this is still matched by the 40% who think they have handled it badly, suggesting the monarchy can’t relax on the issue yet.”
“Nevertheless, the Palace is likely to be relieved that overall support for the monarchy so far at least seems to have been insulated from the public’s views of Andrew, alongside continued stability in favourability for core figures like the Prince and Princess of Wales, Princess Anne, and Charles himself.”
The British public overwhelmingly backs King Charles III’s move to strip Prince Andrew of his titles, signaling cautious optimism for the monarchy’s handling of the controversy while public opinion remains divided.
