Australia is aiming for a 3-0 whitewash in the rugby league Ashes series against England. Winger Josh Addo-Carr emphasized that wearing the Kangaroos jersey brings out the best performance in players after Australia secured an unbeatable 2-0 lead.
Following their initial Test victory at Wembley, Australia won a tough 14-4 match at Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium. Despite England's strong start, Australia’s defense held firm before scoring two tries within five minutes by Cameron Munster and Hudson Young.
At 30 years old, with over 200 NRL games and experience in 15 State of Origin matches, Addo-Carr is a senior figure in the squad. Saturday’s game marked his ninth Test match representing Australia.
"Scrambling for each other is the most important thing, we know we can score points. They scored one try last week and we were disappointed with that so to keep them to no tries this week was good."
Addo-Carr praised the team’s defensive efforts, highlighting that England was limited to just one try across the first two Tests.
"We still have one more game to go and need to try and prepare the very best we can and hopefully give it a whitewash, it's going to be a tough game next week."
He acknowledged the challenge ahead in a hostile environment but expressed confidence in the team’s resilience and process adherence under pressure.
Josh Addo-Carr’s remarks reveal Australia’s strong defensive mindset and determination as they pursue a clean sweep in the Ashes series.
