International Credit Union Day
Thursday has been recognized as International Credit Union Day on Kauai.
Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami announced the proclamation, which was accepted by representatives of Kauai's credit unions, including Garden Island Federal Credit Union, Gather Federal Credit Union, Kauai Federal Credit Union, Kauai 'Ohana Federal Credit Union, and McBryde Federal Credit Union.
International Credit Union Day celebrates the spirit of the global credit union movement.
According to Terri Kaniho of Gather Federal Credit Union, the occasion will be marked with individual celebrations at each credit union.
International Credit Union Week is recognized from October 13-17.
