President Donald Trump’s Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, has sharply criticized the BBC, calling it "100 per cent fake news" amid renewed controversy about doctored footage involving the broadcaster.
The BBC continues to face public backlash as Britons question why they should pay the mandatory £174.50 license fee. In a fiery segment on GB News, commentator Lizzie Cundy described the network as suffering from "fiasco after fiasco" and argued it no longer serves the public interest.
"People want choice, people want freedom, and people certainly don't want to be misled and lied to, especially when they're forced to pay £174.50."
Cundy further emphasized that the broadcaster’s credibility has suffered irreparable damage, pointing to falling compliance rates and growing numbers of license fee prosecutions.
"Is the BBC worth that? Let me tell you, 300,000 are failing to pay, and we've got 50,000 prosecutions going on. People don't want this anymore."
The White House has continued its dispute with the BBC, with Leavitt reiterating that the network’s handling of recent footage amounts to deliberate misinformation. The criticism underscores a widening rift between the broadcaster and both American and British audiences.
The BBC faces intense scrutiny over doctored content, as US officials and UK commentators accuse it of repeated failures and declining public trust.
