Jenn Lyon, Taran Killam, and Kristin Chenoweth star in NBC's new mockumentary comedy, Stumble. Fans of the 2000 cult hit Bring It On might enjoy this fresh cheer-themed series.
Stumble offers a quirky look at the demanding world of competitive college cheerleading, filled with high-energy routines, injuries, and setbacks. The story follows Courteney Potter (played by Jenn Lyon), a celebrated cheer coach known for her deadpan humor.
After a viral video involving alcohol and a “Best Booty” award forces Courteney’s firing from Sammy Davis Sr. Junior College in Wichita Flats, Texas, she lands a new coaching role at a junior college in the fictional town of Heådltston, Oklahoma.
The town of Heådltston is infamous for its candy-button factory, and ironically, the college currently lacks a cheer team. Courteney is determined to find and train a new squad, despite the challenges.
Only the first two episodes were available for review, but viewers can look forward to Jeff Hiller, Emmy winner for Somebody Somewhere, guest-starring as Augustus, the factory owner.
“I’m sexy, I’m cute! I’m everything you’re not…”
This cheeky opening cheer from Bring It On sets the tone for the spirited and irreverent comedy style of Stumble.
Stumble combines sharp humor and heartfelt moments to explore the chaotic yet passionate world of college cheerleading through a fresh NBC mockumentary format.
