UFC Vegas 111 Weigh-in Results: Ismael Bonfim Misses Weight by 5 Pounds

Ismael Bonfim failed to meet the lightweight limit at the official UFC Vegas 111 weigh-ins, coming in five pounds over the mark. The bout weekend, which features both Bonfim brothers, started poorly for the elder sibling.

Weigh-in Details

Bonfim, set to compete on the undercard while his brother Gabriel headlines the main event, weighed in at 161 pounds—well above the 156-pound non-title fight limit. This marks the second instance of Ismael missing weight in his UFC career.

Previous Weight Miss

His earlier miss occurred ahead of a planned bout with Vinc Pichel at UFC São Paulo in November 2023. The fight was canceled after Pichel declined to proceed due to Bonfim’s failure to make weight by 3.5 pounds.

“I decided to take away his ability to fight and make money,”

said Vinc Pichel after refusing to accept the bout.

Catchweight Agreement and Penalty

For UFC Vegas 111, Bonfim’s opponent Chris Padilla successfully weighed in at 155 pounds. Their fight will continue at a catchweight, with Bonfim forfeiting 25 percent of his purse as penalty.

Main Event Confirmed

In the main event, Gabriel Bonfim and Randy Brown both successfully made weight. Gabriel registered at 170.5 pounds and Brown at 171 pounds. Aside from Ismael Bonfim, all 23 other fighters on the card made weight without issue.

Main Card (ESPN/ESPN+ at 7 p.m.)

Author’s summary: Ismael Bonfim missed the lightweight limit by five pounds at UFC Vegas 111, forcing a catchweight bout and a 25% purse penalty, while all other fighters made weight successfully.
