Mark Richt, 65, who led the Georgia Bulldogs from 2001 to 2015, addressed false rumors about his health. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he stated:
“Apparently, there’s something out there on the Internet saying that I’m in the hospital. But if you would have seen me running down the street today, it was so pitiful you probably would have thought I needed to be admitted to the hospital. Lol.”
Richt experienced a heart attack in 2019 and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2021. During his tenure with Georgia, he achieved a 145–51 record, securing two SEC championships and winning nine bowl games.
After leaving Georgia, he coached at his alma mater, the University of Miami, from 2016 to 2018.
Mark Richt clarified misinformation about his hospitalization, emphasizing his continued activity despite past health challenges.
