NZ vs WI, 4th T20I: Rain Ends Match Early in Nelson

The fourth Twenty20 international between New Zealand and the West Indies was abandoned on Monday due to rain after less than seven overs of play. West Indies were 38-1 after 6.3 overs when the second rain interruption forced the match to be called off at Saxton Oval in Nelson.

West Indies had been asked to bat first. Alick Athanaze, who scored 21 runs, was the only wicket to fall. He was dismissed attempting to hit a James Neesham delivery over mid-on but miscuing and caught by Daryl Mitchell running back.

New Zealand leads the series 2-1 with the final match scheduled for Thursday in Dunedin.

Earlier in the series, New Zealand lost the opening match at Eden Park, Auckland by seven runs but won the second match there by three runs. They also won the third match in Nelson by nine runs on Sunday.
