Glen Powell, known for his role in "Anyone But You," stars in the new adaptation of Stephen King's 1982 novel The Running Man, following Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 1987 version. On the Graham Norton Show, Glen shared details about filming a revealing scene in the action thriller.
Glen described a stunt where he had to abseil down eight stories of a building in freezing weather, while half naked and wearing a harness that was uncomfortable and unflattering.
"I had to abseil down eight storeys of a building in freezing conditions half naked and wearing a harness which cinched me – believe me nothing looked good."
He revealed an unusual incident involving a crew member whose sole job was to prevent him from kicking a window during the stunt, which required close proximity and led Glen to wonder what the person kept seeing through the takes.
"There was a guy whose only job was to stop me kicking a window, which means he was looking up my skirt all night, I wondered what he was seeing take after take."
Glen also recounted receiving unexpected, expert advice from Tom Cruise, the 63-year-old legendary stuntman and actor. Tom called to guide Glen on performing stunts more safely.
"Tom rang me to give me the low down and, what I thought would be a ten min call, lasted two and half hours – he basically told me how not to die."
Tom told Glen he didn't "look cool" in the stunt, sharing wisdom based on his extensive experience to help Glen improve.
