The Ministry of Energy clarified how decisions about electricity restrictions are made, noting that outage schedules depend on the current state of the energy system, which can vary hourly.
Factors influencing these restrictions include the impact of shelling, accidents, power shortages, and increased demand, especially during peak times or extreme weather conditions such as cold or heat.
According to the Ministry of Energy, in the event of extensive shelling, the energy system may suffer from reduced generation capacity or impaired electricity transmission due to network damage. This situation necessitates limiting electricity consumption.
The Ministry of Energy states: “The command to apply one or another type of restriction can be given by both NPC 'Ukrenergo' and distribution system operators.”
The scale of restrictions depends on the level of energy consumption combined with the capacity of equipment to generate and transmit electricity.
Electricity outage schedules adapt dynamically to changing conditions within the energy system to balance supply and demand and prevent further failures.
The Ministry of Energy ensures outage schedules remain flexible, responding to hourly shifts in network damage, consumption, and generation capacity to maintain system stability.
