2027 Kia Telluride Preview: The Sequel’s Even Better

The redesigned Telluride offers enhanced style, more space, and advanced technology. During this preview, no driving or mechanical inspections occurred, as Kia has yet to reveal details about the engine or pricing. These updates are expected at the upcoming Los Angeles International Auto Show.

Kia will move straight from the 2025 Telluride to the 2027 model, with the new version arriving at dealerships in the first quarter of 2026.

Design Evolution

The original Telluride was praised for its appealing design, blending an upscale and rugged aesthetic reminiscent of a more affordable Range Rover. Its boxy, tough look was further enhanced in 2023 with the addition of the X-Line and X-Pro models, the latter offering genuine off-road capabilities.

The new Telluride builds on this foundation. Tom Kearns, head of Kia Design Center America (KDCA), explained the vision:

“We envisioned the all-new Telluride as the perfect vehicle to drive to a luxury ski resort. It would be imposing, but upscale, luxurious and with restraint … the result is an entirely new, chiseled exterior design that retains a boxy, honest SUV presence. It's a larger vehicle, gaining 2.3 inches of length, with the wheelbase extending by almost 3 inches. It allows for a roomier interior, easier ingress and egress and improved ride quality.”

Typically, designers adapt their concepts to the vehicle’s fundamental engineering design points, which involves ongoing collaboration.
