The United States is providing $1 million, equivalent to over ₱58 million, in urgent life-saving aid to support those affected by Typhoon Kalmaegi (locally known as Tino), subsequent storms, and the recent earthquake in Cebu.
This was announced in a statement by the U.S. Department of State on November 7, 2025.
In addition to financial aid, the U.S. government pledged to strengthen ongoing Philippine-led relief efforts by supplying emergency shelters, logistics support, and ensuring access to clean water and sanitation in the communities hardest hit by the disasters.
Many of these areas are still recovering from the series of storms and the strong earthquake that struck Cebu in September, making this assistance critical.
“The United States and the Philippines are not only ironclad allies. We are friends and partners bound by a shared history, common values, and a steadfast commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific.”
The U.S. government emphasized that its swift response reflects the enduring strength of the U.S.-Philippines alliance, rooted in mutual values and a common vision for regional freedom and openness.
The US reaffirmed its support for the Philippines by extending financial aid and resources to communities affected by natural disasters, showcasing a resilient alliance grounded in shared principles.
