A former BBC One controller has claimed that Holly Willoughby may replace Tess Daly as the host of Strictly Come Dancing after Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced their departure from the show this year.

Peter Fincham, ex-BBC boss, told The Daily Mail that his hairdresser, who also cuts the hair of a well-known channel controller, hinted that Willoughby is likely to take over the hosting role.
"My hairdresser also cuts the hair of a well-known channel controller. What’s said in Harry’s the hairdresser stays in Harry’s. But he says with great confidence that Holly Willoughby will take over."

The BBC declined to comment on the claim when contacted by Digital Spy. Holly Willoughby is widely recognized for her work with ITV, including hosting Dancing On Ice and This Morning, which she left in October 2023.

Both hosts shared an emotional message on social media confirming their exit:
