Philadelphia 76ers' star Joel Embiid did not play in Tuesday night's game versus the Boston Celtics due to soreness in his right knee. This marked the fifth game he has missed out of the team’s 11 contests this season.
Embiid, the 2023 MVP, is currently averaging 19.7 points and 5.5 rebounds in 23.3 minutes per game. Before this game, he had been sidelined for four consecutive matches as he recovered from left knee surgery.
"There wasn’t a specific incident that could be pinpointed," said Philadelphia coach Nick Nurse regarding Embiid’s right knee soreness.
"Tests revealed no structural issues with Embiid’s knee and he was day-to-day," Nurse added after the game.
Joel Embiid's right knee soreness has caused him to miss the latest game, but medical evaluations show no serious damage, keeping his status uncertain as he remains day-to-day.
