Marvel Rivals season 5 is launching on November 14, featuring the long-awaited addition of Gambit and Rogue, referred to as Mr. X by creative director Guangyun Chen, also known as Guangguang. However, the highlight is a brand-new non-combat map inspired by New York's Times Square.
This map is designed as a social hub where players can relax and interact without fighting. Unlike the usual gameplay, which revolves around intense battles—such as Blade’s violent and graphic attacks that resemble Elden Ring boss fights—this area encourages a calmer experience.
"Season 5 brings you the grand debut of New York's Times Square," Guangguang said in the pre-season 5 update video. "This is a non-combat map that can host up to 100 players. Hang out, dance, watch videos, read books, and let your imagination run wild."
The new Times Square map aims to foster socializing and relaxation, expanding on the friendly atmosphere seen in the Doom Match 'Sanctum Sanctorum' map. It provides a dedicated space for players to share moments away from combat.
"We've seen so many fun, friendly meets up in the Doom Match 'Sanctum Sanctorum' map, so we wanted to give everyone a dedicated space for socializing, relaxing, and sharing cool moments outside of battle."
Marvel Rivals season 5 is enhancing player experience by adding a peaceful social map inspired by Times Square, where up to 100 players can gather without combat, fostering community and creativity.
