UK shoppers are expected to spend a total of £9.52 billion during the Black Friday weekend from November 28 to December 1, marking a 4.2% increase compared to last year, according to VoucherCodes' Shopping for Christmas Report: Black Friday Weekend.
Black Friday itself is predicted to bring in £3.36 billion, a 5.7% year-on-year growth, contributing an additional £0.18 billion to retailers' revenues. Around 76% of shoppers expect to spend the same or more than last year during the event.
Cyber Monday is forecast to generate the highest sales over the weekend with £3.38 billion, up 1.7% compared to the previous year. The Saturday and Sunday following are expected to see a combined spend of £2.78 billion across online and physical stores, reflecting a 5.4% increase.
The trend of recent years continues with the majority of spending occurring online, accounting for 53.9% of purchases. Online retailers will earn approximately £5.13 billion, an uplift of 5.8% from 2024. Physical stores will attract £4.39 billion, rising 2.4%, boosted particularly by Cyber Monday foot traffic.
