Lancaster Group Championing Volunteers Receives £400K Lottery Award

Lancaster District Community & Voluntary Solutions (CVS), a long-standing supporter of volunteers, has been awarded £401,483 from the National Lottery Community Fund. This new investment will secure ongoing help for charities, volunteers, and community initiatives across the Lancaster district for the next five years.

Building Stronger Local Support

The funding will enable Lancaster District CVS to expand its mission of connecting and empowering the voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise sectors. Through this support, local people will be encouraged to take active roles in improving their communities.

Expanding Capacity and Empowerment

Supporting Volunteers

Through the Lancaster District Volunteer Centre, individuals will continue to receive one-to-one guidance and opportunities to engage in meaningful volunteer work that benefits both the community and themselves.

Community-Led Action

As part of the initiative, new resident-led Community Action Networks (CANs) will be launched across Morecambe. These networks aim to give local residents the resources and confidence to drive positive change in their own neighborhoods.

“Founded in 1972, Lancaster District Community & Voluntary Solutions exists to support the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector, ensuring these organisations are visible, valued and heard.”
