Delay in Federal Decision on Tasmania Wind Project
The St Patricks Plains wind project in Tasmania has been delayed for the fifth time, with a new deadline for a decision set for November 28.
The project, which was originally designed for 67 turbines and has been scaled back to 47, is proposed for a site in Tasmania's Central Highlands.
A government spokesperson stated that the delays were requested by developer Ark Energy, which acquired the project in 2022.
The project was deemed to require federal supervision under the EPBC Act in 2019, and has been waiting on a decision since May.
No comment has been received from Ark Energy.
The project's capacity is now 291 megawatts (MW).
