Indian Motorcycle Changes Ownership
US motorcycle maker Indian Motorcycles has undergone a change in ownership.
The current owners, Polaris, have sold a majority stake in Indian Motorcycle to Carolwood, a real estate and private equity firm.
Indian Motorcycle will continue to operate as part of Polaris until the deal is complete, expected to occur in early 2026.
- Manufacturing facilities in Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Monticello, Minnesota will transition to the new standalone company.
- The industrial design and technology center in Burgdorf, Switzerland will also transition after the deal is finalized.
Polaris will retain a small equity in the new company.
