Binghamton's City Council will vote on a resolution calling for a legal review following the findings of the investigation into former Police Chief Joseph Zikuski.
An independent report, released on October 9, found that Zikuski failed to follow department policy on multiple instances, including attempting to interfere with an investigation, wiping department-issued electronic devices, and storing a personal firearm in a City office without authorization.
"This resolution reaffirms that no one is above the law,"
said Councilmember Middleton. The resolution calls for a criminal investigation by the Broome County District Attorney, New York State Attorney General, and other oversight agencies.
