50 Years of Schaake's Pumpkin Patch
Schaake's Pumpkin Patch, located just east of Lawrence, KS, is celebrating a major milestone - 50 years of growing good gourds.
The family-owned farm began as a small 4-H project and has since grown into a 1,400-acre pumpkin farm, now more of an attraction than a patch.
Customers can visit and pick their own pumpkins in a variety of types and colors between late September and late October each year, with October 30 being the final day open to the public this year.
A food truck party will be held on October 18 and 19 to continue the festivities.
