Historic Sweets Manufacturer Moves into New Site

Lancashire-based confectioner, Stockley’s, has invested in a new 60,000 sq ft facility as part of ambitious growth plans.

The privately-owned sweets producer has moved into the new facility following consistent growth over the last several years. Data from Innova Marketing Insights shows a steady uptick in both sales (+5%) and volume (+3%) for the UK sugar confectionery market over the past five years.

Almost half of consumers in the UK have purchased sugar confectionery in the past year, above the global average of 40%. Despite a strong healthy food movement, Brits continue to maintain a sweet tooth, with nostalgia proving popular in shoppers' baskets.

Stockley’s has benefitted from this trend, with its double-digit growth driven by its sweet shop favourites, fudge, and Liquorice Flyers.
