The Jena Times Celebrates 120 Years of Service

Many people attended an open house and anniversary celebration at The Jena Times office in Jena, marking 120 years of service to the parish.

The event, held on October 8, brought together state and local officials, industry executives, and local business owners, allowing the newspaper to express its gratitude to advertisers and supporters.

The Jena Times is the oldest continuously operated business in LaSalle Parish, founded in 1905, five years before the parish was created.

"We really wanted to just hold a small event for our newspaper’s anniversary and were so blessed by the number of people who attended,"

Current owners Craig and Kim Franklin expressed their appreciation to all attendees, saying "Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us."

The celebration was a significant milestone for the newspaper, and the large turnout was a testament to its importance in the community.
