Warburtons Acquires Roberts Bakery Ilkeston Factory
Warburtons has confirmed the acquisition of the Roberts Bakery sourdough factory in Ilkeston through an administration deal.
This move will enable the company to meet growing demand and support future growth, according to a Warburtons spokesperson:
“To support the future growth of Warburtons, we have purchased the Roberts Bakery site in Ilkeston. This will provide us with further capacity to meet demand in a growing segment of the bakery market.
The acquisition follows the news that Roberts Bakery parent company, Frank Roberts & Sons Ltd, has been saved from administration by Boparan Private Office, securing over 400 jobs.
Warburtons expressed appreciation for their long-standing relationship with the Roberts family, wishing them well for the future.
