Uncertain Fate of Lower Paxton's Fireworks Show
The fate of the Lower Paxton Township fireworks show remains undetermined after a township meeting ended with no vote on the matter.
Residents had previously filled out a survey to vote on whether to keep the fireworks or end them permanently for the town's July Fourth celebration, following chaos and arrests in the past two years.
- Most attendees at the meeting were concerned about the Koons Park fireworks.
- The board received feedback from numerous people on both sides of the debate.
"You have tradition in one hand and safety in the other, to me the safety outweighs the tradition," said Charles Stuart, CEO of Harrisburg Area Police Athletic League.
