Pope Pius X's Vision of the Future
When Pope Saint Pius X wrote Pascendi Dominici Gregis in 1907, he diagnosed a spiritual pathogen that had been rising within the Church for over a century.
He knew that this was not a passing theological fad, but a synthesis of all heresies that had been growing since the time of Rothschild.
Pope Pius X's pontificate worked to crush this heresy, a effort that was not new, as Leo XIII had also fought against it.
He called it "the synthesis of all heresies."
Leo XIII had embedded his awareness of this issue in the long version of the St Michael prayer, and the traditional calendar had celebrated the unique duties of each archangel on different days.
- St Gabriel is celebrated on March 24, the day before the Annunciation to Mary.
- St Michael is celebrated on September 29, a day that was once known as Michaelmas, the Catholic thanksgiving.
