Hundreds of people attended the inaugural LIC Wellness Fest on Saturday, Oct. 11, despite wet conditions.
The festival, hosted by Hurricane Fitness and Trends Dispensary, featured a "high-impact wellness block party" with fitness classes, wellness and nutrition workshops, and product demos.
It was a "great day" for the local community to enjoy fitness activations and learn about health and fitness-based businesses, said Rodney Carter, co-founder of Hurricane Fitness and the LIC Wellness Fest.
The event was supported by sports, wellness, and active lifestyle businesses in Long Island City, promoting healthy lifestyles.
