The Interact Club of the Meduxnekeag, in partnership with the Houlton Recreation Department and the Aroostook County Cornhole League, will host a cornhole tournament on Friday, Oct. 24 at the Gentle Memorial Building.
Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., and the tournament starts at 6 p.m. with an entry fee of $5 per player. All proceeds will support Rotary International’s Polio Plus Foundation, with prizes awarded to the top three teams.
According to Rotary International,
polio is a highly infectious disease that once paralyzed hundreds of thousands of children every year.However, thanks to global vaccination efforts led by Rotary International since 1985, cases of polio have been reduced by 99.9% worldwide.
The event aims to contribute to the eradication of polio, a goal that Rotary International has been working towards for decades.
