The Williams Road Fire, spanning 321 acres, has been fully contained as of 6:53 p.m. on Friday, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.
Initially, the fire was 90% contained as of 8:59 p.m. earlier in the day. Burnet County officials confirmed that all fire was contained within the established perimeter, with no evacuations, closures, or injuries reported. Additionally, no structures were impacted by the fire.
To ensure safe working conditions for crews, a 5-mile temporary flight restriction was put in place around the fire perimeter by the Texas A&M Forest Service.
Helicopters were utilized by officials from Inks Lake State Park to collect waste from the lake and drop it on the fire, helping to control the blaze. Fortunately, the fire did not reach the state park.
