Amel Association International, a HelpAge global network member, is putting older people's needs and voices at the center of community recovery in Lebanon.
Amel has launched a dedicated Ageing Unit, which transforms practical care into policy influence by linking home-based support, clinics, and social networks to build stronger, age-inclusive systems.
This initiative is crucial as Lebanon's overlapping crises, including currency collapse, the Beirut port explosion aftermath, and the pandemic, have strained essential services and pushed many into poverty, with older women and men being among the hardest hit.
Amel's approach shows how that can change.
