A New Partnership to Support People with Brain Injuries
Headway Devon, a local charity based in Exeter, specializes in helping individuals rehabilitate from head injuries.
Partners include Thompsons Solicitors, MAPS Benevolent Trust, and the Players of the Postcode Lottery.
After brain injury people are discharged home to a family network without wider support.
Individuals may spend months in hospital and rehabilitation, only to be left alone upon discharge, often without understanding their brain injury or knowing how to seek compensation.
Headway Devon currently works with around 100 people weekly, but many more go home alone, unaware of the charity's services.
Thanks to the new partnership, Headway Devon can now provide support in hospitals, reaching more individuals in need.
