Jones County commissioners have put their data center plans on hold after passing a 90-day moratorium at a recent meeting.
This means no new applications for facilities will be considered until the new year.
"That's concerning because [DRI]'s only paused on data centers,"
Vice chairman Sam Kitchens stated that he wanted to wait and see if rules on Development of Regional Impact study (DRI) laws in Georgia would change over the next few months.
The pause will give leaders a chance to make a more informed decision, according to Kitchens.
