Fox Puts on Show in Hudson Valley Yard; What Would You Do?

Encountering a Fox in the Hudson Valley

This week, a surprising encounter with a fox in my yard left a lasting impression. The fox was found curled up under a bush, looking completely at home as it napped in the shade.

Upon waking, the fox began to groom itself and lounge in the sun, allowing for a rare and adorable sight. Fortunately, I was able to capture some video of its sleepy stretches using my phone.

Wildlife experts note that fox sightings are becoming more common in the Hudson Valley this fall, particularly as young foxes explore new territories and the weather cools.

Some foxes have even been known to make homes in tall trees in backyards. However, distinguishing between a fox and a coyote can be challenging from a distance.
