Holberg Road Closed due to Mudslides
A mudslide has closed Holberg Road outside of Holberg, with multiple slides reported in the area.
“The slide occurred on Northeast 60 Road at approximately the 14k mark,” said Dane Cameron, the Regional District of Mount Waddington’s emergency program coordinator.
According to Cameron, Western Forests Products is assessing the situation to develop an action plan for debris removal.
Affected Areas and Power Outage
BC Hydro reports that 47 customers are without power due to the slide, affecting areas including:
- End of Dombie Hill Road
- Victoria Road
- 200 block of Victoria Avenue
- Dombi Hill Road
- Sawmill
- Cookhouse
- Croft Street
- Seymour Avenue
- Radar Site Holberg
- Moores Lot 72
- William Moores Res
- 0 block of Bunkhouse Way
Power has been off since 5:52 p.m. on October, according to BC Hydro.
