Overland Park Prioritizes Gathering Spaces
Residents in both north and south Overland Park have access to new city parks.
A new park, Bietigheim-Bissingen Park, opened on September 29, 2025, in south Overland Park at 159th and Quivira Road.

The park is named in honor of Overland Park’s German sister city, Bietigheim-Bissingen.
Overland Park and German officials have collaborated since 1999 on economic development, cultural, and educational ties.
North of the city, plans are underway to develop Marty Park, pending final city approval, with construction expected to begin in autumn 2025 near 75th and Metcalf Avenue.
