The Trump administration has lifted US sanctions on Milorad Dodik, the pro-Russian leader of Bosnia's Republika Srpska, as well as his children, allies, and companies.
Dodik, 65, is the former president of Republika Srpska, one of Bosnia's two semi-autonomous regions, and remains its most powerful political figure.
The move came without explanation, a day after Dodik met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, according to a bulletin from the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
