Truck Accident on N3 Kills Eight
A devastating accident occurred on the N3 in the Swinburn area on Van Reenen’s Pass on Wednesday morning, resulting in the loss of eight lives.
Road Traffic Inspectorate Sindy Msimang reported that the truck lost control on a steep hill and rolled backwards, colliding with a minibus taxi behind it.
- 16 people were in the taxi
- 6 surviving passengers were rushed to hospital for medical care
"We urge road users to be patient - and to use other alternative routes," said Msimang.
The road has been temporarily closed to allow for the investigation and clearance of the wreckage.
