Nurses at University Medical Center New Orleans in Louisiana will hold a strike for three days from November 11 to 13 to protest LCMC Health’s refusal to address nurses’ concerns about staff retention in on-going first contract bargaining.
Nurses at University Medical Center New Orleans (UMCNO) are represented by National Nurses Organizing Committee/National Nurses United (NNOC/NNU) and have delivered their required advanced notice for their work stoppage.
UMCNO nurses claim that their hospital is being managed in ways that hurt the ability to retain experienced health care workers, including nurses, despite being considered an economic and technological marvel at the time of its construction.
